SAVE WATER BEAR BAR
HELP US KEEP THE PARTY GOING
Water Bear Bar is a queer woman-owned cocktail bar where everyone is not only welcome but celebrated. In a state where being different can still be dangerous, Water Bear stands proudly as a sanctuary for the marginalized — a cozy, defiant gem rooted in world-class hospitality and unshakable community values. But we need your help to keep the party going.
We’re more than a bar. We’re a beacon.
In conservative Idaho, inclusive spaces are rare. We opened this bar to elevate women's representation and excellence in the hospitality industry and to offer a radically accessible space to marginalized groups. We carved out a warm, affirming, real place for queer folks, women, people of color, and other often underserved communities. Whether you’re here for the craft cocktails, the craveable bar snacks, or just to exhale among friends, Water Bear is your home away from hostility. And we mean it — from gender-neutral bathrooms and ADA accessibility to a zero-tolerance policy for hate and harassment, this place is built with intention.
COMMUNITY CENTRIC - YES. BUT WE KNOW HOW TO POUR.
Our cocktails are unapologetically top-shelf. Our staff? All heart. Whether you’re sipping a house original or savoring a seasonal shrub, every detail is crafted to surprise and delight. We’ve earned our reputation as one of Boise’s best-kept secrets — now we’re ready to grow.
Water Bear was born out of grit, love, and late nights — but in today’s climate, even the strongest community needs backup. Your support will help us:
offset operational costs, help us hire more employees, and expand our hours
preserve this uniquely queer and safe space in Boise, Idaho
continue to elevate the hospitality scene in Boise by training our employees to the highest ability, while also providing them with a living wage that allows them to thrive
Whether you’ve walked through our doors before or just believe in the power of radical hospitality, this is your chance to build something with us. A $10 donation? Beautiful. Sharing this with friends? Powerful. A larger contribution? Transformative.
This isn’t just about a bar. It’s about protecting joy, identity, and community in a place that desperately needs it.
